Question 3: 2011 IMO mini-polymath

In the past two years I ran a project "mini-polymath" to resolve the problems of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO that year).  This year, IMO it is being held in the Netherlands, with problems being released on July 18, 19, and I also plan to question again (probably last question Q6, but to my discretion to choose bbaizo a problem once I see them all).

The format of the project's mini polymath seems to work well in the last year, so I tend to revert to this format simply change many lives, to collect a consistent data about those projects.  Therefore, changes to the project plan, unles will at pre-arranged date with a lot in advance, you can run simultaneously on three different sites: "research" over the wire to the problem solution process bablog polymath, "discussion" over the wire this discussion all meta bablog-about the project, and wiki-a wiki page to record the polymath progress made in the thread of research.  (By the way, there is a discussion on the wiki about the logo for this site; please feel free to chip in your opinion on the suggested icons.)  The project will follow the standard rules polymath (such as for example in a mini-summarised polymath 2010).

There are some kinks in our still must be worked out, unfortunately; The two main recurring feedback back these save (a) there is no way to edit or preview without the intervention of one of the maintainers blog, and (b) by using the concatenation of the response, it is difficult to keep track of all the multiple discussions going on at the same time.  This is allowed we use are different from mblogim WordPress-based forum that we have used for previous projects for mini-polymath to experiment with other software that might help ameliorate (a) and (b) (although all alternative site should certainly the ability to support any kind of TeX, and therefore should be easily accessible by the participants, the polymath without having cumbersome registration process); If all the suggestions for alternatives, I'd be happy to hear about them in the comments on this post.  (Of course, all other notes cluster or era projects a mini-polymath also correspond the response thread.)

Nothing more to do this early is a survey conducted for the start time for the project (and to measure interest in the participation).  To facilitate the comparison I am about to use a four-hour time slots in the same as for the poll.  All times are in coordinated universal time (UTC), which is actually the same as GMT; Conversion between UTC and local time zones, such as found on this Web site.   For example, the Netherlands are UTC + 2, and so July 19 4 m UTC (say) 19 July 18: 00 local time of the Netherlands.  (I will be on UTC-7.)
